Yin Yoga: A style of hatha yoga that is practiced with long, passively held floor poses (asanas). It is designed to move beyond the muscles into the deep layers of connective tissue, promoting the flow of energy, prana & blood around the joints. This process allows for deep openings effecting the hips, spine & ankles. Yin offers you a time & place to breathe deeply, nourish your body & mind while awakening your spirit. This practice is quiet, relaxing & healing for your whole being - creating a quality of stillness & deep surrender - equally beneficial for beginners & experienced yogis.
Anusara Yoga: Founded by John Friend in 1997, Anusara yoga is a school of hatha yoga which unifies a life-affirming Tantric philosophy of intrinsic goodness with Universal Principles of Alignment. Anusara's impactful effect is due in large part to its uplifting philosophy, epitomized by a "celebration of the heart" that looks for the good in all people and all things. Consequently, students of all levels of ability and yoga experience are honored for their unique differences, limitations, and talents. There is no mold to fit into. Self-examination, discovery, and receptivity to new ideas are foundational to this dynamic system. Individual creativity and investigation are always encouraged within the bounds of basic alignment principles and philosophic precepts of Anusara yoga. Anusara yoga grows with harmony and integrity through the combined vision of our Anusara yoga teachers to unveil the innate goodness, worthiness, and Supreme nature of each student and every being.
Pilates: text to come.
Vinyasa Flow Yoga: Vinyasa is a term that covers a broad range of yoga classes. The word Vinyasa means "breath-synchronized movement." In other words, the teacher will instruct you to move from one pose to the next on an inhale or an exhale. The class will flow with this tide of breath so that you can align with your inner-self as your primary guide.
Yamuna Body Rolling is a revolutionary approach to health and fitness using balls designed exclusively for this practice. It consists of a series of routines using 6 to 10-inch balls. Unlike other ball exercises, YBR goes far beyond random movement and stretch. It allows you to work specific muscles in detail, to create suppleness in tight areas and optimize range of motion. Yamuna Body Rolling reeducates muscles and stimulates bone, creating positive, permanent changes in the body.
Yoga Dance is a fusion of dancing alone in your living room and joyful breath-based movements; combining yoga and classic dance steps and rhythms with music from many cultures. This inspirational dance of yoga is for every body, for all ages. |
